West Virginia University officials were happy to welcome future, past and current minority doctoral students to campus during the 10 Year Celebration, an event commemorating 10 years of Colloquium and the Chancellor's Scholars program at WVU. 2011 Neil S. Bucklew Award winner Terry Nebel, of the WVU Office of Information Technology, gives his acceptance speech at the annual Neil S. Bucklew Award Luncheon, held each year in conjunction with the Social Justice Visiting Committee Spring Meeting. Graduate student Kombe Kapatamoyo gives a presentation as part of the Journey series, held each year in conjunction with Diversity Week. Each year, several international graduate and undergraduate students are selected to share their unique story of what led them to WVU. Delbert Royce, of the Morgantown Chamber of Commerce, speaks to the attendees of the 2010 Veteran's Appreciation Breakfast. Co-sponsored by the President's Office for Social Justice, this event recognized 150 veterans. Nine doctoral candidates in the Chancellor's Scholars Program were honored the fourth annual Regalement Dinner. The Chancellor's Scholars program for minority doctoral students provides the funding students need to obtain their doctorates, as well as mentoring, networking and research opportunities. Members of the Indian Student Association perform at Diversi-Tea, an event held as part of Spring Diversity Days. Spring Diversity Days consists of three days of events held each Spring to supplement fall's Diversity Week. Students at University High School take part in the Global Culture Series. The Global Culture Series is designed to bring the international community to local high schools and is part of the "Building an Inclusive Community" partnership between WVU, the City of Morgantown, and the Monongalia County School System.
